“Free School” was the answer to my prayer that night, but God did not ask me to set up a new school for free. Instead, He directed me to join SD Pelita Permai which at that time did not have any English teachers.

God bestows upon me the HEART for Pelita’s children, a heart which converts limitations & challenges into BLESSINGS and difficulties into JOY.

In every beginning of each lesson, I always ask God for His help simply so that the children are enabled to understand and apply what is taught.

I thank God for every progress, no matter how small it seems. Although there are times I can be furious when the children are lazy to learn, deliberately skipping their homework, constantly cheating and so on, His compassion & perserverance triumphs. Those challenges actually shape and sharpen me – I was constantly reminded that teaching is not only about transferring knowledge but also showing God’s love & mercy.

Love, sincerity, patience, kindness, self control and humility becomes God’s precious gift to me through Pelita children.

Moreover, I am also greatly inspired by their thankfulness and joyful attitude despite their “under-priviledged” circumstances.

Thank You, Jesus, for allowing me to be the extension of Your hand & feet and be blessed at the same time, through Pelita Permai.

Thank you, Pelita children for every stretch of smile, laughter, sweet behaviors you genuinely give. For every hardwork and improvements you make, I give thanks to the Lord.

I earnestly pray for each one of you that God’s love and grace will always be with you and may whatever endeavors you choose to do in the future, be prospered by Him and for His glory. You are precious souls…
